Instrument funding enhances music therapy intervention for pupils at Pathfield School

High-quality instruments and musical equipment, generously funded by local Music Therapy charity Sound Waves South West, valuable in contributing to enhanced resources needed to continue with the delivery of high quality specialist music therapy provision for children and young people attending Pathfield School.

Music therapy is provided as part of the newly established arts therapies service within the school—comprising art, drama and music therapy. The school are working in close partnership with Chroma, a leading national arts therapies organisation, who provide the team of HCPC registered arts therapists. The arts therapies enable pupils to work in accessible, creative and motivating ways towards achieving positive outcomes, and reducing and removing barriers to learning.

The donation of these instruments will continue to support the music therapy work in the school, addressing pupils’ social and emotional needs and making positive changes that will ultimately enable them to increase their access the curriculum and fulfil their potential.
