School expansion – a new building being proposed for our Early Years group

Dear Parents and Carers,

We, like all special school across the country, have been asked to expand our provision for both our Pathways group and our Early Years children. Our Pathways provision is changing to offer more space and extra capacity as from next September The new provision will be off site in a detached building that is a 10 minute walk away from the school. This is currently with the planning department at the moment for ‘change of use’. There will be more details on this project before the end of the summer term.

We have been very fortunate to be supported by the Local Authority, with a new building being proposed for our Early Years group, at the front of the school. This will also allow the opportunity to support the transport team as there is the opportunity to take all of the minibuses off the road at the start and end of each school day. This proposal is now at the stage where it is going to the planning department for their consideration, and fingers crossed, this will go ahead, as it is badly needed. Our space is very limited, with no option to expand the provision in the current facilities we have. We would appreciate your support in this matter as your views are very important to us.
